Statistics of “Alghurebaa Hospital” in Baghdad in 1911 AD.

Translator background: In this paper; the health administration in old Baghdad at the end of Outman Empire and the health institutions that were present at that time were discussed. There were many health institutions in old Baghdad such as “Alghurebaa Hospital”, “Namiq Pasha Hospital”, “Dar Almullmeen Hospital” and many other private hospitals and pharmacies. The importance of the study of this precise yearly statistics of the patients, methods of management and number of complicated surgeries at the end of the 19th century at “Alghurebaa Hospital” is that it reflects the health advancement in the Outman Empire. Also, the presence of patients from different nationalities in this hospital that was stated in the statistics reflects the nice reputation and scientific level of this hospital.   The original book is titled “The Statistics of Alghurebaa Hospital in Baghdad in 1911”, by the Turkish Surgeon-in-Chief Mohammed Kani. The book is a printed booklet present in the Awkaf Library in Mosul City under No. 6/610-2843 Gelebi. It was written in old Turkish (Outman) Language of 21 medium-sized papers. Printing date: March 1330 (Romantic calendar) 1331 H., 1912 AD. The booklet contains tables of the surgical operations in details that were done in 1911 at this hospital, in addition to a long table of the in-patients according to their diseases, (these tables were note shown because they are too long to be presented here). Only the last table in the booklet was shown here which explained the results of patients’ treatment. The booklet was ended with the discussion of the results of treatment.
