Forgotten Foreign Bodies Found Intra-abdominally Endless Story Report of Two Cases
Abstract
ABSTRACTBackground: Forgotten intra-abdominal foreign bodies are unpleasant hardly avoidable situations resulting in a wide variety of crippling or lethal complications to the patients, in addition to the medico-legal problems. Foreign bodies remain a permanent problem that can hardly absolutely be prevented; but at least one must try to minimize their incidence by acoustically controlled monitoring of the patient prior to skin closure. I report two cases with intra-abdominal foreign bodies with two different presentations; with view to demonstrate how bizarre they can be.
